For winter use only

While exploring the impacts of our dependency on electrical power on the landscape I became increasingly aware of other impacts that our existence has on the environment. The artificial, permanent structures we insert into nature are ubiquitous. Some of the more striking ones are cable cars, chairlifts and other structures of skiing resorts. Built for use only during a few months of the year, these dominate mountain landscapes in many places around Switzerland. This series is an exploration of the way ski resorts transform mountain landscapes.
