Power

In my very first photographic project, Homo technologicus, I had focused on the use of electrical technology in our daily lives. What I found was an omnipresence of devices that use electrical power. This of course leads to a hunger for electrical energy. Invisible as it is, we seldomly ask ourselves where this energy comes from – we just plug our devices into the nearest power plug. In this series I set out to explore the direct impact of our hunger for electricity on natural landscapes, with a focus on Switzerland. Where does this energy come from, how is it delivered and what are the impacts of these processes on our natural landscapes? These were the questions I set out to work on in this series.
